"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: urgent please

A very goodmorning to you and how is life generally.

My name is Edward Ajey. I am from Ghana, West Africa, 26year old . I believe that Race, Religion and Nationality can give no hindrance to friendship. I am a christain.

Please accept my friendship. I have been in the Refugee Camp here in Ghana for complete 2 years. I decided to stay here just for security purpose.

My father, Dr. Ajey Oko, who was the Chairman of Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), was assassinated together with my mother by unknown Assassins. It was suspected that enemies who needed his office position did it. Since that time, I have been in the Camp for the sake of my life.

Even the Electricity company has alledged that my father squandered their money and had frozen many of his bank account here in Ghana.

Very fortunate to me, My father, before his death, had placed in escrow call account the sum of US$8,000,000.00 in a Bank outside Ghana. He used my name as the beneficiary so that no body can take the money exept me.

For now, I think, I am now an adult and need to make a good standard living with the contents of the money in the escrow account. Still I can not handle this transaction alone due to my present situation. But, now I have gotten you as friend, I will like us to work together to retrieve the money from the bank and also help me come to your country. It is my desire to come to your country and establish there forever.

Please write me back as soon as possible and inform me of your decision.

Your faithfully,

Edward Ajey
