"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Need your reply

Dear Balbindah,

Thanks for your prompt response to my message.

I want you to realize that at my age of 52, I cannot engage myself in
child's play or anything I am not sure of. Contacting you for this venture
was a directive from God I believe and I am convinced in my mind that you
will be the right person I want to accomplish this desire.

I maped out the money just to sponsore my political ambition this year 2007.
Therefore working with you to transfer the fund to your bank account will be
an immence contribution from you side and you will be compensated
adequately.

I have had thoughts over this and wish to suggest that I instruct the bank
to transfer the fund from Nigeria to either a bank in Spain or Switzerland
and from there the fund will finally be transfered to your bank account.
After that, I shall embark on a trip to your country to meet with you for
disbursement.

This is only a suggestion. If you agree with me on this plan, do let me know
so that I will intimate you on the next step to follow.

Send me your phone and fax number for more information.

Waiting for your mail.

Regards,

ABDULAHI ADAMS
Minister for Agriculture
