Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Dear Mr. Gofried,
I got your mail message, I want you to understand that it is only you, I and
my wife that have knowledge about the existence of this fund.
There is nobody that knows anything about this fund at the moment, I advice
you also to make sure that you keep the secret for security reasons.
I want you to furnish me with all your details ( full name and
address/telephone and fax number) so that I can proceed to the security
company in order to effect the change of ownership agreement certificate in
your name to permit the release and transfer of the consignment.
I want you to understand that we need to expedite all action towards
realising this fund into your country as quickly as possible.
I humbly rely on you in achieving this goal.
Thanks and God bless.
Sincerly,
Dr. Vincent George.
