Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Hello friend,

Your Partnership Is Needed.

There is no doubt that this message will come to you as a surprise since we
have not met before in our lives, but permit me to contact you through this
medium for an important and highly confidential business partnership. I got
your email contact from the internet in my search for a trustworthy person
to rely on in an urgent business deal that is completely risk-free and
financially beneficial to all parties concerned on it's conclusion.

My name is Engr.Frank Ibeh, the director of Contract Awards in the largest
Oil Company in the country and West Africa, the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation {nnpc} which is based here in Lagos-Nigeria. I am mandated by
other colleagues of mine in the contract department to seek your assistance
in receiving the total sum of Eighteen Million United States Dollars into
your bank account for us for Foreign Investment through your guidance and
direction in your country. This amount arose as a result of some previous
contracts awarded to some Foreign Contractors between 2004 and 2006, and the
original contractors have been duly settled their principal amounts and we
are left with this over-invoiced sum which we added for our private use in
foreign investments. The fund has been moved to a security/finance company
that is based in London waiting for onward transfer to any person we may
deem capable and trustworthy enough to receive this money and keep it safe
in his/her account till we retire between January and March next year and
come over for the investment proper.

We have decided that should you be able to handle this and ready to assist
us in this deal, you will be entitled to a 30% of the total fund when it
enters your account. You shall keep 60% for me and my colleagues and the
last 10% will cover any contingency expenses that may arise during this
transaction. We assure you of a gentlemanly business transaction and wish
that you will also assist us sincerely in this, since we are handicapped as
Government Officers and are not allowed to maintain huge accounts either
here or in overseas because of the current civil service code of conduct
being practiced in the country at present. To enable me direct you to the
bank in London as our foreign partner and the right beneficiary to the fund,
we will need the followings from you in your response to this message: Your
names in full, your telephone numbers and your mailing address. We will
prefer your mobile phone number to avoid communication difficulties till the
transaction is concluded.

You should endeavor to send your response to my private email address
contact for purposes of confidentiality and for the documents of deposit of
the money in London, and information regarding this business. Please send
all your reply to { frk_ibeh51@yahoo.co.uk },from where I can feel free to
send you further classified documents and information as proof, for us to
begin the entries in your favor.

Finally, we wish to state here clearly that this transaction is completely
100% risk-free. Your urgent attention is highly needed if you wish to be
