Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

I am Barrister Backy Jerry, On the 21st of April 2005, my client, his wife and their only child were Involved in a car accident along Kumasi express way in which my client and the whole family died. Since then I have made conscientious inquiries to locate any of my client's relations and this has proved unsuccessful. I decided to locate any member of his family, hence I contacted you since you have similar surname, therefore i contacted you to cooperate with me to claim the money.
My deceased client had deposited USD25.5M in a security vault here in Ghana. I have necessary documents to this deposit. All we need to do is to move this money from security vault to a bank account that will be nominated by you.
You will be entitled to 30% of the total amount, while I will take the balance.
