Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Subject: VERY URGENT
Dear Pastor Robert Ised,
I am letting you know the development of things; I have tried to raise the security bill. Right now it is remaining USD$1,000.00 to complete. As a matter of fact I have not abandoned you. I just wanted to sort out the money issue before contacting you, because I dont want this money issue causing problem or argument between you and the attorney.
I want you to help me with the balance of US$1,000.00 paid direct to the attorney. I also want you to send me a bank account where you could receive the percentage I want to approve for your church and the charity through you, because now I am sharing it my self to various charity organizations I pleased.
Reply this mail very urgent.
Sheik Shaffer Umaru.
