Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Subject: YOUR CO-OPERATION.
Dear Friend,
Good day to you and your family.Please I want you to do me a favour
which will be beneficial to both of us.
Please listen,I have some funds which I inherited from my late father,
I want to invest this funds in a reputable business.In view of this I
have contacted you to know if you will be capable enough to receive
the funds for investment for my family.The funds is currently in a
security company in Europe, as soon as you have agreed to assist us
with the investment you shall have to contact them for them to
initiate you as the investor to receive the funds for us.The funds
which values USD$20.5m will be released to you directlly from
the security company.
