Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

I do foresee the surprise this letter will bring to you as it comes
from a stranger but be rest assured as it comes with best intention.
However, your address was courtesy of the South African Information Centre
in Johannesburg. As a matter of fact, I do not know much about you. I relied
on faith and decided to seek your understanding and co-operation in this
transaction as it will be beneficial to all of us involved.

My name is Mrs Monica Nyerere from the Republic of Tanzania, the first
second wife to Late President Julius Nyerere. As you know that my husband
Julius Nyerere, President of the Republic of Tanzania died after brief
illness in London on 14th Oct 1999. My late husband used his position to
make some fortune for himself and his children. After his burial the family
started having problems, which is phenomenal with polygamous families.

me about the “WILL” with his chamber. When I was going through the “WILL” I
discovered that my late husband foresaw what would happen in future when he

wives, I took it upon myself to share my properties to the three families I
have. For you MONICA, I have a box deposited with a security company in
Johannesburg, South Africa for you to take care of yourself, your son and
two daughters in case
you see me no more. The box contains US$17 Million US(Seventeen Million
United States Dollars). I deposited the said box in Johannesburg, South
Africa as valuables. You have to go to my attorney and collect a letter
containing all you need to know about the box. Besides, the box was
deposited in your
name and you alone can claim it”

With these words, I see that my husbands’s family cannot accommodate me and
my childrens , I decided to solicit for your help to transfer this money
into your company or private account in any other part of the world.
Secondly, you will also help me and my childrens to look for profitable
investment overseas because I do not have any knowledge of international
investment. If you are interested in helping me, please contact my son with
the above telephone and fax numbers, indicating your interest in helping us.

My family will compensate you with 20% of the total sum for your
assistance, 5% for expenses that may be incurred in the course of this
transaction and the remaining 75% will be for my family and I, which you
will help me to invest.
