Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Dear Sir/Madam.

You may be surprised to receive my letter. I got your contact from the internet
during my desperate search for a saviour and a partner My name is Mrs. Rotimi
Williams from Angola in Africa, I am 43yrs old, a widow with two kids. I
lost my husband during the war in my country Angola.

Before the death of my husband, he deposited the sum of $18 million dollars
in a security company in Europe, and now the company contacted me to look
for an investor who will help me and my dear family to go to Europe and
claim the money so that the money will be transfered into his/her bank account
anywhere in the world.

Meanwhile i will live there with my children and invest my money in your
country, because my country here in africa is not a safe place to invest,
