"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: VERY URGENT

Good-day,

I am sorry for using this medium to contact you in this business. My name
is Greham Douglas. I am working with Mobil Oil as Director of Projects.
I got your contact during my personal search, after thorough deliberations,
I decided to approch you for a very confidential business transaction of
mutual benefit.

My colleague and i are seriously in need of a reliable person who will be
recieving funds on our behalf from companies we assist with insider information
to get big contracts. Presently one of the companies requested that we provide
information on who is to recieve the under the table agreed gratification
on our behalf. Rules and regulations prevent us from receiving gratification
for service rendered officially or to own foreign account. Every modality
has been worked out to ensure a smooth and hitch free transaction. All i
need and will ever need from you is first and foremost your willingness
to deal. Consequently i will need your home or work address and the name
you want the cheques written out on. Be reminded however that every account
we pay these cheques in must be functional and able to receive large sums
without raising eyebrows.

As soon as you indicate your interest further informations will be passed
on to you on the procedure we intend to follow for a perfect closing. On
accomplishment of your objectives, you will be entitled to 20% of the total
sum on each cheque. If this proposal is accepted to you, kindly reach me
immediately via this email while simultaneously furnishing me with your
confidential phone numbers for easy communication.
