"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: My Regards

Dear Friend,

I am one of the Personal Assistances to the late President Gnassingbé
Eyadéma of Togo. I will not like to waste your time.

I am looking for someone that I can trust to handle some money amounting
to $12million I confiscated from the late president,

This money is part of the money he has already started negociating with
a bank in Switzerland on how to deposit it two weeks before he died, but
the press reported that he went for medical check-up.
Do understand that because of his status as the president of the republic
he deposited the money with my name in one of the safe security companies
in Abidjan and the real content of the box was not disclosed to the security
company hence the box that contains the money was deposited as family valuables
and non of his family members are aware of this deposit because it is a
secret deal between me and him.

I am therefore soliciting you to assist me and retreive the box from the
security company for an onward transfer of the money to a bank account as
you may provide.

upon your response and acceptance we will discuss on what will be your
benefit in this transaction and the area we will invest the money when if
finally get to your country.
