Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Dear Friend,
Good day to you! Glad to write you this mail. I am a suisse national
and I wish to have a private and sensitive correspondence with you with
regards to a huge deposit from yukos oil company in russia that is lying
fallow. I require a foreign partner to broker this venture here in
Europe as well as help me to invest the money in the best way possible. If
you are interested, please provide me with your confidential telephone
number and email address and I will provide further details and
instructions for us to discuss your interest and benefits. Please keep this
confidential; we cannot afford more political problems. Finally, please
note that this must be concluded within two weeks. Please write back
promptly. I will also suggest you visit these sites to be better informed
about this project.
Write me back if you can handle this transaction. I look forward to it.
Thanks for taking your time to read this mail. Reply to my private

Patrick Berger
