"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear friend,

I am Barbara Cameron from United States of America, a widow married
for fifteen years without a child, Currently in a Hospital in Nigeria
where I am undergoing treatment for cancer of the lungs, under the
custody of Coca Cola Company where i worked here in Nigeria as a
Foreign Expert. From all indications my condition is ghastly
deteriorating and i do not know what will happen in the next few
weeks and i want to quickly hand over this fund to you.

Moreover,i have gotten a $7.1Million deposited with my Bank in
Nigeria, Zenith Bank Nigerian Plc and for the facts that i have lost
my ability to talk and my doctors have told me that I have only a few
months to live. I want a person that is trustworthy that will use 50%
of this money to fund churches, orphanages and widows and invest the
remaining 50% in any business of your choice which will be profitable
to you hence i do not trust Nigerians on this. As soon as I receive
your reply I shall give you the contact of the bank as well will also
issue you with a letter of authority that will prove you as the new
beneficiary of this fund.

Regards,
Believe
Barbara Cameron.
