"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: HOW ARE YOU FRIEND???

PLEASE THIS IS NOT FRAUD NOR A SPAM MAIL .Don't be offended to receive this mail, which I sent without your prior permission since we do not know each other before. I got your contact through network online hence decided to write you because of my desperate situation, one of my clients who have a deposit for investment with a financial institution died in an auto crash since 2005. I made several efforts through the High Commissions to contact any of the deceased family relatives to no avail and no one has come up since then to ask for claim.

The reason of my urgent contact to you is that the Company has issued me a notice to provide the next of kin within the next 14 official working days or the deposit declared confiscated to the Government.

I am writing you this to ask for your co-operation for us to claim this money because it will amount to injustice if I do not take this decisive step to secure this hard earn money of the deceased and invest it for the less privileges to benefit, because if nobody comes forward to claim the fund it will be forfeited to the government and they will use the funds to suppress the poor masses in our society, based on that, I am contacting you to assist me in making this transaction a reality. I only have to send an application to the company and state you as the next of kin and the funds will be approved for transfer to your custody.

I seek your consent to work as a team to use this hard earn money of the deceased to propagate good works in our communities by donating to charity homes etc and still have enough that will take good care of us and our family for better tomorrow.

I will stop here until I receive your positive response.
Yours truly,
David Gordon.
