Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

as this question would have been rightly directed to the owner of the funds
to be transferred Miss Lucy Abam Frimpong.
I am a legal attorney based here in Dakar-Senegal. 54 years old and married
with three children.
I have been abroad to the United states of America, Israel and Italy on
holidays. I have also visited so many parts of Africa on legal conferences
held on human right activities.
I do not know the reason why you are not getting through on my phone number
to speak with me despite having directed you on how to dial my phone number
from your country.
How ever, your delay from sending all the information that i requested from
you is what i do not know your reasons despite the fact that i told you how
urgent Miss Lucy Abam Frimpong has requested that the process should be
followed up. I shall wait for your prompt response.
